Habit Cricket by Thryve Apps

Privacy Policy

Last updated 30 October 2026

This policy explains how the app “Habit Cricket” for iPhone and iPad (the “App”), developed and published by Thryve Apps (“I”, “me”), handles information. In short: your habits stay on your device and, if iCloud backup is on, in your own iCloud account, which only you can read. There are no ads, no tracking and no analytics, there is no account, and I don't run a server, so I receive no personal data. Apple handles payments for Habit Cricket Pro. By using the App you agree to this policy.

1. Information stored on your device

Everything the App works with is saved on your iPhone or iPad (including iPhone Duo):

  • your habits: their names, icons and schedules, any daily goal or weekly target and its unit, and the length of a focus timer;
  • the habits you tick off each day, the amounts you log against a goal, and any notes you add to a day;
  • your innings and balls, rain delays, badges, and the trophies you win in a Series or the World Cup;
  • the shop items you buy with runs earned in the game;
  • your settings: reminder time, theme, language, and, if you enter them, a display name, jersey number and colour, plus your chosen stadium, commentator and bat and whether sounds and voice are on.

None of this is sent to me or to anyone else. Besides the App's own iCloud backup (section 4), it may be included in your device's iCloud or computer backup if you have those turned on; Apple handles those backups. Uninstalling the App deletes the data from that device.

2. Information I collect

None. I do not collect, store or receive any personal information. The App has no account, no sign-in and no server of mine, and it does not send your habits, progress or settings to me. Its privacy label on the App Store is “Data Not Collected”.

3. No ads, tracking or analytics

The App shows no ads and contains no advertising SDK. It does not track you across apps or websites, does not use your device's advertising identifier, and so never shows Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt. It contains no analytics or crash-reporting SDK.

4. iCloud backup

So that you can get your game back on a new device or play on your iPad, the App keeps a backup copy of the data listed in section 1 in your own iCloud account. It uses Apple's iCloud key-value storage (NSUbiquitousKeyValueStore), which is private to your Apple Account. The copy is compressed and stored by Apple; it is tied to your Apple Account, and I have no access to it and never receive it. Apple's handling of iCloud data is covered by Apple's Privacy Policy.

  • iCloud backup is on by default when you are signed in to iCloud on your device. If you are not signed in, or iCloud is turned off for the App, nothing is backed up and your data stays only on the device.
  • When you install the App on another iPhone or iPad signed in to the same Apple Account, it offers to restore the backup. You choose whether to restore it or start fresh.
  • You can turn iCloud backup off, back up now, restore, or delete the iCloud copy at any time under iCloud backup in your Profile. You can also stop the App using iCloud in your device's Settings > your name > iCloud.
  • Reset all data in the App can also delete the iCloud copy when you tick “Also delete my iCloud backup”.

5. Exporting and importing your data

Export data in your Profile saves everything listed in section 1 as a JSON file. You choose where it goes through the share sheet or the Files app, for example your iCloud Drive or a message to yourself. Import data reads such a file back and replaces the data on your device. The file goes only where you send it; I never receive it. Anyone you give the file to can read your habits, so keep it somewhere you trust.

6. In-app purchases (Habit Cricket Pro)

The App offers Habit Cricket Pro through the App Store, as an auto-renewing monthly subscription, an auto-renewing yearly subscription with a 7-day free trial, or a one-time lifetime purchase. Apple processes the payment and I never see your payment details or your Apple Account. The App asks the App Store only whether you are entitled to Pro, and the Restore purchases button asks it for your past purchases when you tap it. Purchases are covered by Apple's Privacy Policy.

The in-game shop uses runs you earn by playing, not real money, and nothing about it leaves your device.

7. Notifications, widgets and Live Activity

The App can show local reminders, at most two a day. They are scheduled on your device by Apple's notification system, and nothing is sent to me or anyone else. The App asks for notification permission first, and you can turn reminders off in its settings or in Settings > Notifications.

Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets show your score, the current over and a countdown to the end of the day, and can tick off a habit. A Live Activity shows a running focus timer, or in the evening today's open ball, on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island. Widgets and the Live Activity read the App's data through an App Group, which shares it between the App and its widgets on your device only. They are updated on the device, with no push server, and send nothing anywhere.

8. Sharing scorecards and recaps

You can share an image of a scorecard, a match report or your monthly recap. The image is made on your device and shared through the share sheet, so it goes only to the app or person you choose. I do not receive it.

9. Spoken commentary

Spoken commentary uses the speech synthesis built into iOS and iPadOS, which runs on your device. No audio or text leaves your device.

10. Children’s privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13 (or under the applicable age of digital consent in your country), and I do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information through the App, contact me and I will help resolve it.

11. Data sharing and security

I do not sell or share personal information, and your habits are not sent to me or to any third party. The only third party involved is Apple: the App Store for purchases, the App's iCloud backup in your own iCloud account, and, if you turn them on, your device's iCloud or computer backups. Because I do not collect personal data, I hold none to protect; the data on your device is protected by its own security, such as its passcode, and your iCloud data by your Apple Account.

12. Your rights and data deletion

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA or India's DPDP Act), you may have rights over your personal data. Since I hold none, your data is in your hands: use Export data to get a copy, Delete iCloud backup to remove the iCloud copy, and Reset all data in the App to erase everything on the device. Uninstalling the App also deletes everything stored on that device, but not the iCloud copy, so delete that in the App first if you want it gone. For purchase records and iCloud data held by Apple, see Apple's Privacy Policy. You can also contact me with any question.

13. Android

An Android version of the App is not currently available. If one is released, this policy will be updated to cover it before it is offered.

14. Changes to this policy

I may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date.
