Privacy Policy

Last updated 4 July 2026

In short, your files are processed on your device and are never uploaded to us. This policy explains what that means and the limited data we do handle.

Local-first processing

Every tool in the “on-device” group performs its work, including OCR, redaction, transcription, encryption and conversion, entirely inside your browser using WebGPU and WebAssembly. Your documents, images, audio and video are never transmitted to Thryve OS or any third party. There is no upload step to opt out of, because there is no upload.

AI copilots (text-only)

A few tools call a language model through a metered proxy. For these, transcription and file parsing still happen on your device; only the resulting text is sent to the model to generate a response. Your original audio, video and documents never leave your machine. The model key is held server-side and is never exposed to the browser.

What we do collect

  • Account & billing: handled by Dodo Payments, our Merchant of Record. We receive your subscription status, not your card details.
  • Privacy-friendly analytics: aggregate, cookie-light usage metrics with no personal identifiers and no file contents.
  • Error reports: scrubbed of personal data and file contents before they are sent.

What we never collect

  • The files you process on your device.
  • The text extracted from them (for on-device tools).
  • Encryption passphrases or keys.

DPDP Act & GDPR statement

Thryve OS is designed to minimise personal data by architecture. For the purposes of India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the EU General Data Protection Regulation, processing of your uploaded content does not occur on our servers. It occurs on your device under your control, which materially reduces the personal data we act as a processor for.

Where we do process limited account and analytics data, you retain the rights to access, correct, and erase that data. Requests can be made to the contact address published on thryveapps.in.

Thryve Redact and similar tools are assistive: they help you find and remove personal data, but they are not a guarantee of compliance. Always review output before sharing.
