Remove metadata strips the hidden details a PDF carries about itself: author name, title, the software that made it, and creation and edit dates. The cleaned file looks the same but no longer says who made it or when. It runs in your browser; the file is never uploaded.

Why your file never leaves your device

Most online tools upload your file to a server, work on it there, and keep a copy for a while. Does it remove the text and images too?
No. Only the information about the file is removed; the pages are untouched. Use Redact PDF to remove content from the pages.
Can it clean photos as well?

Is my PDF uploaded to a server?
