About Merge PDF

Merge PDF combines two or more PDF files into one, in the order you choose, without uploading them. It also takes JPG, PNG and WebP images and turns each into a page. The merging happens inside your browser tab, so even a large file is handled on your own device and is never sent to a server.

  • Join scanned documents
  • Combine certificates for an application
  • Add a cover page
  • Bundle invoices

How to merge PDF

  1. Drop the files to combine

Select several PDFs, images, or a mix. Each one is added to the page grid.

  2. Put them in order

Drag files or single pages into the order you want. Rotate or delete pages that should not be there.

  3. Export the merged PDF

Save one PDF to your device. Compress it next if it has to fit an upload limit.

Why your file never leaves your device

Most online tools upload your file to a server, work on it there, and keep a copy for a while. Thryve PDF does the work inside your browser instead, with code that runs on your own device, so there is no upload, no copy on a server and nothing to delete afterwards. Close the tab and the file is gone from memory. It also means the tools keep working on a slow connection once the page has loaded.

Questions, answered

Is there a limit on how many PDFs I can merge?
No fixed count. Each file can be up to 500 MB; very large sets are limited by the memory of your device, since all the work happens there.
Will the merged PDF keep the original quality?
Yes. Pages are copied exactly as they are, not redrawn, so text stays sharp and selectable. Only the Compress tool changes image quality, and only when you ask it to.
Can I choose the order of the merged files?
Yes. Drag whole files or single pages into the order you want before exporting.
Is my PDF uploaded to a server?
No. The PDF is opened and processed inside your browser tab, on your own device, and the result is saved straight back to it. Thryve has no server that receives files.
Is it free?
Yes. This page gives 10 free exports every rolling 30 days, with no account. Thryve Pro, $9.99 once with no subscription, removes the limit on every Thryve PDF, Photo, Media and Invoice page.
Do I need to sign up?
No. Drop a file and start. An account is only needed to buy Thryve Pro, so the licence can follow you between devices.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes, in Chrome, Safari, Edge or Firefox on Android and iPhone, as well as on Windows, Mac and Linux. Since the work happens on the device, a large file takes longer on a phone than on a laptop.
